Active Ingredients

Metamucil contains Psyllium Husk Powder 3.4g (2.4g of soluble fibre) per 7g dose.It also contains Sucrose, but is Gluten-free and contains no chemical stimulants.

Each 7g dose contains less than 5mg Sodium.

Dosage

The dose to help restore and maintain regularity for Adults and Children over 12 Years is 2 level 5ml measuring spoons dissolved in at least 250ml of fluid and stirred briskly.

If the mixture thickens, add more fluid.

This is to be taken 1 to 3 times daily.

For Children 6-11years use half the Adult dose.

To help lower Cholesterol levels take 2 level 5ml measuring spoons 3 times daily dissolved in fluid as before

Warnings

Take Metamucil 2 hours away from any other medication to avoid absorbtion problems.

Do not use if you have Abdominal pain, Chest pain, Vomiting, rectal bleeding or difficulty in swallowing or breathing.refer to your Doctor.

If constipation persists for more than 7 days, consult your Doctor.

Adverse Effects

As your body adjusts to increased fibre content, you may experience changes in Bowel habits or minor Bloating.

metamucil may cause an allergic reaction in some people who are sensitive to inhaled or ingested Psyllium.
