Description
Vitamin E is an antioxidant that protects cell membranes and other fat-soluble parts of the body from free radical damage.
Vitamin E’s protective action has other beneficial effects on the body; there is evidence to suggest that vitamin E promotes immune function, particularly in the elderly and helps protect against environmental and chemical pollutants.
Vitamin E may be applied both internally and topically (applied directly to the skin) to aid wound healing and skin conditions such as eczema.
Between 400-800iu is often recommended as a daily dose.
